In order to provide space to bond the lateral incisors to their normal size, orthodontic treatment was completed to develop the width of the jaws. Once this was done, the lateral incisors were bonded to their normal size and the bite closed down. This young lady was very pleased with the results.

This 10 year old presented to the office for an orthodontic evaluation due to abnormal jaw and facial development. Treatment was started using functional orthodontics to direct more growth of the mid-face and upper jaw to give a nice balanced face. This is a good age to develop bone when all of the permanent teeth have not yet erupted. This child will undergo a second phase of treatment when the permanent teeth are ready to erupt. This phase will close the spaces and put the teeth in proper alignment.
