Question: What can be done to fix a chipped front tooth?

Answer: A chipped tooth can ruin an otherwise pleasing smile. Fortunately, dental bonding can be applied, color-matched and shaped to help make your tooth appear pleasing again. Dental bonding is usually accomplished in one visit. A long-term solution would be to get a porcelain veneer.

Question: How do you get rid of stubborn coffee or tobacco stains?

Answer: Are you finding that the high-abrasion toothpastes designed to whiten teeth aren't doing the job? We offer an economical way - home bleaching. You wear custom-made stints (formed to your teeth) that hold a gentle bleaching gel. You will usually see results in three to four weeks.

Question: Is it too late for adults to have braces?

Answer: It's never too late to straighten out your smile. Some cosmetic problems can ONLY be treated this way, and often also have long-lasting benefits for your bite and jaw. Certain orthodontic corrections can be accomplished in 3 to 6 months.

Question: What are Porcelain Veneers?

Answer: Porcelain veneers are form-fitted shells that are permanently affixed to the front of your teeth. They can be the ultimate in a cosmetic make-over, because they can solve many common cosmetic problems: chipped, gapped, stained and mis-aligned teeth, among others. They require at least three visits to complete.

Question:What about big spaces between teeth?

Answer: Gapped teeth are a common problem with a variety of solutions. Often, teeth are simply too small or narrow for your mouth. An economical solution is to bond all the front teeth, uniformly allocating the tooth mass required to fill the gaps. In this way, you don't end up with two huge teeth to fill the gaps. See the smile gallery section of our website for some excellent examples.

Question: How long do cosmetic procedures take?

Answer: Bonding can be completed in one visit in most cases. At Home Bleaching requires an initial visit to be fitted for the stint. You need to return to pick-up your splint (we make sure it fits right), then depending on how often you wear the splint, you'll see results from one week to a month or more. Porcelain Veneers require three visits, about a week to 10 days apart for fitting and applying. If you are traveling a long distance to see us, we can make special arrangements to shorten the time between visits. Orthodontics require several visits over a period from three months to a year or more, depending on your needs. Since each person's dental needs are unique, the above time guidelines are only an estimate. During your first consultation a better schedule can be provided.

Question: How can I afford cosmetic dentistry?

Answer: Cosmetic dentistry offers many different options. Some treatments can be inexpensive. Some cosmetic options may be partially covered by insurance if teeth are severely broken down. A consultation is the best way to determine what your choices are and the work is probably not as expensive as you might think. Investment in your smile is an investment in you and it can lead to an improved dental appearance and help to improve your confidence and self-esteem. If you require some help financially our office offers financing programs to choose from which helps you to budget for a change that could dramatically improve your outlook and happiness with your appearance.

Question: What can be done about a gummy smile?

Answer: Sometimes minor gum contouring can be done to reduce the amount of gum tissue that shows.

Question: How can I get straighter teeth without braces?

Answer: It can be done by cosmetic bonding and/or ceramic veneers.

Question: How can missing teeth be replaced?

Answer: Replacement can be done by a removeable partial denture, fixed bridge or implants.

Question: What is a root canal?

Answer: A root canal is a treatment used when the nerve or blood supply of the tooth is infected due to injury or decay. It involves the removal of the diseased pulp, followed by the cleaning and sealing of the pulp chamber and root canal.
